Each of our virtual empowerment communities are for ages 15-19. We build our relationships within the Voxer app, a coaching platform. With a private group chat, maintaining the integrity of the program, we lean in for support and guidance. Multiple times each day, your teen will receive a text/image/video outlining a movement based challenge. These are meant to be brief (and silly) energy bursts to shake up, shift out and move on with the day. Movement based challenges can be done in the privacy of their rooms, while other opportunities include venturing outside. This chat will allow for members to engage with each other, offering encouragement and connection as they tap into how to be kind, to themselves and to others. Once a month, we sit down together in Zoom and start to unpack the themes that keep coming up in the group chat. For example; pressure to be thin, words we use to describe ourselves, and resistance to change. Simply put, we nurture relationships that feel good because we want to feel good.
Yes. Parents will receive a newsletter offering a theme to the monthly work your teen has been engaged in. Various challenges and prompts will be included to align with the daily habits your teen is striving towards. During your first month parents will receive one video-call with Kelly to discuss individual needs.
No. If you have hand weights, that’s great, but it’s not necessary to participate. We use our own resistance and find the nooks within the house for effective and fun movements, such as the wall, stairs and chairs. Bonus! Members are rewarded with monthly gifts which include equipment such as hand weights and resistance bands.
