What box do I fit in??
I am twenty years into my professional career and still unsure which label I like, which title best suits me. I’ll keep feeling my way through, doing what I do best. I’m a healer.

Oh, what a journey!
I was done crying and yelling at the end of every day. I remember the evening well, when I came home from my job as a licensed clinical professional counselor and told my husband I was done. Working as an LCPC, in every capacity I tried, felt like a soul sucking job. I felt stuck in the system that was swallowing up our children.
I could not fill out another questionnaire. I could not hear another conversation where the first words from parent or child were about a diagnosis or medication. I could not look into the eyes of another family member and see THEIR soul being sucked with every check of the box.
“This cannot be why I am here.” I declared.
I quit working for agencies, hospitals and residential facilities.
I wanted out of the system. As far as I could go.
I ran straight for the woods. Choosing a job simply FOR my soul, I began working as a dog walker and fell in love with it instantly. It was lighting me up in ways that I never felt in my adult career.
On those walks, with my new canine friends, I chose myself.
In finding those moments of joy, peace, and gratitude I was also able to truly listen (because I could ALWAYS hear) to that voice within.
The voice offering my why. AND my how.
In 2015, after a decade of trying to fit into a box that I KNEW was not for me, I began feeling into what WAS for me. And from those feelings, Trust Your Gut, Inc was born.
Since that first step into the woods with my dog friends, I have shifted my focused from what I don’t want to what I do want. I want children to enjoy their childhood. I create the space where our children feel safe, accepted and inspired.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the ‘hood. I am thrilled for you to join our community!
Peace and love,
