My Heart Academy Retreat
October 21st 1pm – 5pm
My Heart Academy
This community is for tweens & teens who are so ready – kinda ready – thinking about being ready – to feel good, to embrace adolescence with confidence, to treat themselves (and others!) with a little more kindness.
By incorporating meditation and movement (in a way that feels fun and easy) into our daily rhythm, we learn how to co-regulate and then regulate our emotions so our beliefs and actions move us towards our (collective) greatness.
My Heart Academy offers the safe, trauma-informed space for our tweens & teens to listen to their hearts, connect to the hearts of others and lean towards a more fulfilling, this-is-what-life-is-about, kind of love.

Does this sound like your tween & teen?
Prior to joining, members often report:
Lacking confidence and overall enjoyment in life.
Feeling lonely, shy, anxious, overwhelmed, misunderstood and depressed daily.
Mean Girls and Bad Boys make up their inner circle.
Engaging in self harm, risky sexual encounters, drug use.
Feeling disconnected from their family.
Parents often witness their tween & teen struggling to:
Set boundaries and use their voice.
Maintain daily hygiene.
Find and keep a healthy friend group and romantic partner.
Avoid burn-out and pressure to be perfect.
Love their bodies.

Community love
“Don’t wait to call. Kelly’s unorthodox method is genius. It is exactly what our children need.” Mother of 11 year old
“I didn’t know how to help my daughter anymore. She needed another adult she trusted to support her with her body image and self confidence. Kelly is a ray of sunshine! My daughter enjoys the interactions with Kelly very much. She WANTS to listen and practice what they discuss which is a sigh of relief for me.” Mother of a 15 year old
“I called Kelly because my daughter was hating herself and hating her life. Traditional methods weren’t helping and I knew it was time to think outside the box. She LOVES the experience with Kelly. I can see the glimmer of hope in my daughter’s eyes again.” Mother of a 16 year old
“I am not hiding in the shadows as much anymore. I am talking to my friends about my needs instead of pretending I don’t have any.” 13 year old
“I am so grateful my mom called Kelly. I’ve been working with her, on and off, since I was twelve. I’m now almost twenty and know my growth and awareness is from my time spent with Kelly.” 19 year old
“From my time with Kelly, I have gained a sense of self that I am proud of. I feel more emotions instead of the same one over and over. Life is enjoyable now ”19 year old
“Fun, silly, serious, blunt, energetic, kind. The best kind of cheerleader!” 12 year old

Meet Kelly

Her degrees include a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kelly is also certified as a Personal Trainer with AFAA, is a certified Health & Wellness Coach with RealBalance and will soon hold a Trauma Informed Coaching certificate with Mastin Kipp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every time we gather together, we introduce movement and meditation, in ways that feel fun. Through journalling, nature, breathing, yoga, pilates and strength training we begin to feel good in our minds and our bodies. Below is a nutshell of our seasonal rhythm, for in-person and virtual groups. We flow with the energy and interest of the group.
Month 1 – AWARENESS Intention & Vision + Trauma Informed
Month 2 – DESIRE Q&A + Routines & Rewards
Month 3 – EMBODIMENT Q&A + Celebration (Crystal)
Each month there will be scheduled movement and mediation classes. These will be livestream opportunities and they will be sprinkled throughout. There will also be a scheduled group coaching call.
Regardless of which package you choose, every month parents will receive a newsletter outlining activities and prompts from your child’s circle.
Our Parent Participation package and One-on-One Support package includes opportunities each month to experience live virtual classes to deepen your own self-care practices. With guest teachers, parents will enjoy somatic therapy and yoga nidra classes. These will be recorded for anytime use. Some seasons include guest speakers on topics specific to what the current Academy members are focused on.
Mighty Networks is a safe container for our members to come together in community. Each member will create a profile and have opportunities to engage with each other and our My Heart Academy curriculum. This app is only for the virtual teen (15+) groups.
Multiple times each month, your teen will have the opportunity to join a livestream meditation or movement class. Also included in our daily engagement are journal prompts, breathing and nervous system relaxation techniques, silly movement challenges, playlists and more. This chat will allow for members to engage with each other, offering encouragement and connection as they tap into how to be kind, to themselves and to others. Our daily scrolling turns into daily practice of self-care.
Each month we sit down together in Zoom and start to unpack the themes that keep coming up in the group chat. For example; pressure to be thin, words we use to describe ourselves, and resistance to change. Simply put, we nurture relationships that feel good because we want to feel good. Our Zoom meetings take place on the New and Full Moon, so we can line up with the energy of the moon phases.
Our in-person groups for ages 9-14 are limited to nine members per group.
Our virtual groups for ages 15-22 have no limits at this time.
No. If you have hand weights, that’s great, but it’s not necessary to participate. We use our own resistance and find the nooks within the house for effective and fun movements, such as the wall, stairs and chairs.
My Heart Academy is a seasonal (3 month) commitment.
