My Heart Academy offers the safe space for our tweens and teens to learn how to lean towards love. Through development of our self-care practices, we explore how meditation and movement feels within our minds, bodies and souls.

Founder of Trust Your Gut, Kelly is on a mission to create a space where our children feel safe, accepted and inspired.
After dropping her clinical counseling license simply because it didn’t feel good to have it, Kelly continued pursing other ways of being a helper. Her degrees include a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kelly is also certified as a Personal Trainer with AFAA, is a certified Health & Wellness Coach with RealBalance and will soon hold a Trauma Informed Coaching certificate with Mastin Kipp.

Frequently Asked Questions
We meet with ages 9-14 in-person only and split the group into two age groups, 9-11 year olds meet together and 12-14 year olds are a group. In-person groups have a home base in Cumberland Maine, with a couple horse barn field trip spots nearby.
Ages 15-22 meet virtually only and also split into two age groups, 15-18 year olds and another group for 19-22 year olds. We build our relationships within a coaching platform, Mighty Networks. With a private group chat, maintaining the integrity of the program, we lean in for support and guidance.
Every time we gather together, we introduce movement and meditation, in ways that feel fun. Through journalling, nature, breathing, yoga, pilates and strength training we begin to feel good in our minds and our bodies. Below is a nutshell of our seasonal rhythm, for in-person and virtual groups. We flow with the energy and interest of the group.
Month 1 – AWARENESS Intention & Vision + Trauma Informed
- Gain clarity on what you want to focus on
- Construct Vision Board (w/ values, beliefs, desires, intentions)
- Learn how the nervous system works and practice somatic techniques
Month 2 – DESIRE Q&A + Routines & Rewards
- Highlight individual patterns, focus, action
- Practice somatic and breathing techniques
- Gain clarity on next steps towards intention/vision
- Outline morning and evening routines
- Identify daily DOSE activities
Month 3 – EMBODIMENT Q&A + Celebration (Crystal)
- Further develop habits
- Continue to practice mindful, full body techniques
- Share Vision Boards and seasonal growth
- Group meditation and blessing
- Oracle Card reading & Crystal selection
Regardless of which package you choose, every month parents will receive a newsletter outlining activities and prompts from your child’s circle.
Our Parent Participation package and One-on-One Support package includes opportunities each month to experience live virtual classes to deepen your own self-care practices. With guest teachers, parents will enjoy somatic therapy and yoga nidra classes. These will be recorded for anytime use.
Mighty Networks is a safe container for our members to come together in community. Each member will create a profile and have opportunities to engage with each other and our My Heart Academy curriculum. This app is only for the virtual teen (15+) groups.
Multiple times each day, your teen will receive a text/image/video outlining a movement-based challenge. These are meant to be brief (and silly) energy bursts to shake up, shift out and move on with the day. These challenges can be done in the privacy of their rooms, in the classroom halls, with others or alone, as well as completed outside. Also included in our daily engagement are journal prompts, breathing and nervous system relaxation techniques, meditations, playlists and more. This chat will allow for members to engage with each other, offering encouragement and connection as they tap into how to be kind, to themselves and to others. Our daily scrolling turns into daily practice of self-care.
Each month we sit down together in Zoom and start to unpack the themes that keep coming up in the group chat. For example; pressure to be thin, words we use to describe ourselves, and resistance to change. Simply put, we nurture relationships that feel good because we want to feel good. Our Zoom meetings take place on the New and Full Moon, so we can line up with the energy of the moon phases.

My Heart Academy is a safe space for our tweens and teens to get curious about how to best support themselves. Members will be invited to embrace the mess of nature, let their inner artist out, and move their bodies. This is not a passive experience. Members are highly encouraged to lean towards the group, stay connected to the community and try the prompts, challenges and activities.
Prior to joining, members often report lacking confidence, feeling lonely, shy, anxious, overwhelmed and depressed. Parents often witness their tween and teen struggling to set boundaries, use their voice, maintain daily hygiene, find and keep a healthy friend group, burning themselves out by striving for perfection, hating their bodies….and the list goes on.
Our in-person groups for ages 9-14 are limited to nine members per group.
Our virtual groups for ages 15-22 have no limits at this time.
In-person groups run for three seasons. Spring session includes April, May, June. We break for summer, July and August. Fall session runs from September, October, November. We break for December. No. If you have hand weights, that’s great, but it’s not necessary to participate. We use our own resistance and find the nooks within the house for effective and fun movements, such as the wall, stairs and chairs.
My Heart Academy is a seasonal (3 month) commitment.
